Is there a way to play a system beep on Mac OS using C and Xcode? I understand that I need to use a library. Frederic - evil strikes back mac os. Is there a library that works across both the Mac and Windows platforms? When the OS update completed on mains power only, I shut down, reconnected the battery and was back to the 3 beeps. At this point I thought it confirmed the battery issue, but I tried the same trick of running off mains power only and this time it also gave the 3 beeps of death.sigh.

My MacBook Pro has been working fine after I installed Snow Leopard but today when I tried turning it on the LED starts flashing and I hear a beeping sound. The screen turns on but there is no Apple start up logo. Also, there is no '?' on the start up screen. I've tried..
o1. FUNCTION + APPLE + P + L
o2. APPLE + OPTION + P + R
o3. SHIFT + CONTROL + OPTION + POWER
..but it doesn't seem to be working and I'm not sure if the problems on my MacBook Pro are the same as on the 'Instant fixes' thread since it DOES turn on but doesn't boot the Apple start up logo and suddenly starts to beep.
Should I go to the Apple store and try letting them fix it or is there an easy way out of this?
Thanks
PS: I'm not sure if this matters, but I just fully charged the MacBook Pro so I don't think it's battery problems..

No Brakes (beep Yeah ) Mac Os X

My macbook started refusing to turn on and instead emits loud beeps with a black screen. I read around the internet and saw that this is a memory problem, and I should reinstall the memory to fix it.
I took the memory out and put it back in, but it keeps beeping (this is the memory that came with the machine, so I know it's not bad memory or something like that). After turning it on and off with the beeps 5-10 times, it turns back on like normal. I have taken the memory in and out multiple times now.
What can I do!?
Thanks.
